Cookie Jar

Thursday, June 30th, 2005

Yesterday was Cookie’s 5th Death Anniversary. I still dream of her regularly. Although I’m slowly coming to terms about losing her, the pain of not having her around still lingers every now and then. Periodically, I think of her and tear, sometimes on the public transport and especially when I see another dog. It’s not that I don’t wanna get another dog, but it has never been “the right time”.

The place we living now do not allow pets, but KL promise me that the moment we get our own place, we’ll get one before we even shop for furniture.

Now Cookie rest in peace in a little porcelain jar in my room in Singapore. Coincidentally, Daddy took it out to show my friends and relatives when they visited him last week. Dad calls it, “Hazy’s Cookie Jar”. *sigh…so corny!

I found more pictures of the Bridal Car. That’s Robert dressed in uniform from the 30s. He is the driver/owner of this beauty.

Culture Vulture

Wednesday, June 29th, 2005

We celebrated my birthday by spending the day in the National Gallery of Victoria. I tell you, we (GL & me) had so much fun. We realised that we are really not that “cultured” after all! Hahaa…

We saw:-

Albrecht Dürer (Fine Art) - We kept yawning and giggled so much. I kept saying that I’m sleepy and GL kept pointing out, “Check out their butts!!” There are actually photos of the 2 of us looking really sleepy. We had some caffeine after that exhibit but it didn’t work.

Wardrobes & Funiture (Modern Art) - GL kept commenting, “Who wears those stuff?” and “What useless piece of junk!”

Photographs (Contemporary Art) - We kept pointing out the flaws in naked women bodies. GL whispered loudly, “Check out that cellulite on that butt!”

And then Abstract Art - We kept pointing and saying, “We could have done that when we were in kindergarden!”

Yes, after that experience, we realised we are pretty un-cultured and can never be arty-farty. And what did my patient other half did throughout the whole experience? He stood far away and pretended he didn’t know us! *Hmpf!

Vintage Coco

Tuesday, June 28th, 2005

Picture of ‘Coco’ at the back and our Bridal Car.

‘Coco’ is a 1985 Toyota Corolla Wagon. Her previous owner was a Vietnam War Veteran. We bought him 3 years ago at AUD2999. Hah! ‘Coco’ has served us well but she is a bit cranky some mornings and rapidly showing signs of old age. We were hoping to use her for another year so that we can save enough money for a new car. Thank goodness for the generousity of Aunt Stella as it is perfect timing to retire ‘Coco’ anyway.

Our Bridal Car is a 1943 (I think!) Jaguar-MKIV. It was a beautiful car and a wonderful experience. It is owned by a Vintage car enthusiast and he has a couple of Vintage Jaguars and Rolls Royces.

Wedding Present named Fifi

Monday, June 27th, 2005

A wedding present from Aunty Stella and we collected it today. It’s a Honda Jazz (also known as the Honda Fit) and I named it ‘Fifi La Fume’ because of the colour. We are truly blessed with people who love us.

Ideal Stag Night

The boys idea of stag night - moon the gals!

Blue Cow

Thursday, June 23rd, 2005

Last Friday, we bought KA (Bestman) and GL(Maid of Honour) to Miss Marples. On the way back to the city, GL saw a Blue Cow?!?! Then we turn to look at that “cow” and realised that it was just a horse with a blue blanket on its back!

*sigh…. Silly GL!

Ring Holder

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2005

We spring-clean the house yesterday and decided to reward ourselves some dessert at Brunettis. So, we drove out of the drive way and realised that we both left our wedding bands on the ring holder coz we took it out to do household chores. Guess what? KL U-turned back to home just to make sure we wore our wedding band out.

Hahaa… weird!

We did it….Finally!

Friday, June 17th, 2005

Yes, I’m Officially Mrs Lam (eek!). Still trying to call “mum” instead of “auntie”. It’s hard when you have been calling “auntie & uncle” for the last 10 years.

Wedding went well. We had lots of fun. Pre and Post wedding was actually the worst. I can’t wait till we’re alone on our own.

*can catch some pics of the wedding at friend’s blog.
