Mags, Sights and Brekkie

Sunday, July 31st, 2005

Last week, we had to pick TT (KL’s cousin) from the airport in the wee hours of 4.30am. Half asleep, we made our way to the airport and upon arriving, TT commented, “Poor thing, your eyes are puffy. Sorry you guys have to pick me up so early.” Darn! I hate those comments about my eyes, coz without make up (mainly concealer), I “look” really tired, with the eyes bags and dark eye circles! *sigh… lucky I can hide behind my glasses. Which by the way, I’m blind without my contacts/glasses.

TT gave me a copy “Her World”. One of my fav mags in Singapore. I’m glad to know that VC is still writing for them. KL went like, “FUCK!! The new suzuki swift cost $60K without COE. It’s about $16K here!”

Anyway, we contempted going Camberwell Market as we were told that we’ll be able to grab good bargains early in the morning. Guess what, we can’t find the place and it was still dark, we figured that we should be able to go back to sleep. Instead, upon reaching home, we (mainly KL) made us a scrumptious breakfast.

Happy, satisfied with a warm tummy, we went back to bed at sunrise.

Treasure Hunting

Friday, July 29th, 2005

I dreamt of Grandma. Dreamt that the silly woman hid her money & jewellery in the park under some bricks, so I told my dad and Aunty Lily and we all went to recover her “treasures” that she hid. We didn’t tell her what we did and when she went to the park to “bury” more treasures, she found that her treasures are all gone, she became devastated. As much as I wanted to tell Grandma what we did, I promised Aunty Lily that we had to keep it a secret or else Grandma will get mad with us and then find a new hiding place, with this, she can learn her lessoon. However, my cousins and I was made to form a search party to help her find her treasures.

Weird Dream as when Grandma was alive, she wasn’t senile or would do such a thing. You think this is weird, you should hear about my dream when I was a concubine for the emperor in the Ming/Ching Dynasty. Haha! GL, BS and KL always say that I have really weird but interesting dreams.

*sob. I miss ‘Ah Ma’.

Box with the Dots

Last week, KL says he wants to cook Indian Butter Chicken, but that goondu forgot to defrost the chicken and didn’t marinate the chicken (need at least 4hrs). So, we order pizza instead.

We’ve been from the different local pizza joints and never tried Dominos. So, we went to the nearby franchise simply because it is cheaper and ordered 2 large pizza. KL had the ‘EL Scorcho’ which he finished the whole damn pizza alone. I ordered the ‘Double Bacon Cheese Burger’ in cheese burst. I ate about 2 slices and KL helped himself the the rest. (What’s new!)

Review? Not bad, but the ingredients are way too little.

Cheep Cheep!

Tuesday, July 26th, 2005

Every morning (sometimes afternoon) when I wake up, I always see some money left for me at my bedside table. KL worries that I have no money to spend so leaves me money in the morning before he goes to work.

Hehee….I feel like I’m a prostitute in the morning. Sometimes, he leaves me only a couple of dollar coins. Geez…I’m cheap! Heh!

Lewd Site for the Straight Eye

Monday, July 25th, 2005

NL, GL and me had a secret meeting online today at Melbourne time 10pm/Singapore time 8pm for some isketch. Hehee…

It was awesome! Our topic of the day was “Lewd” and boy, we sure learnt a lot.

Then I had to net search some words/phases and stumpled upon this wonderful website - encyclopedia of sex. It’s hilarious!

Accident, just happen…

Monday, July 25th, 2005

Almost forgot to blog this. Last week, while having dinner, we heard a very loud crash. It really sounded like someone threw a refrigerator from a high rise building (aka HDB). But its not possible because there is no high rise building where we live. So, we went to look outside, being the KayPoh that we are. Seems like our neighbour was backing out to the main road and a car crashed into her. Apparently driving at high speed.

The most frightening part was that the passengers are mainly elderly. In a state of shock, they were helped by other neighbours. You see, the area I live in are filled with elderly. We are literally surrounded by retirement homes. Literally! And the accident happened at about 7pm, when the street we live in is absolutely quiet. Think old people sleep really early!

Anyway, I don’t think anyone was badly hurt although the damage was obliviously bad. The next morning, glasses can still be seen on the road.

Note: Of coz I finished the Harry Potter book already!

Hairy Pothead

ARGH!!!

Hairy Pothead

We went DFO on Saturaday and chanced upon the Half Blood Prince selling at $22.45. I knew that the new Harry Potter book would be expensive (abt $40+) so we didn’t wanna buy it until we saw this great deal.

NL refused to purchase it at such high price but since we got NL so addicted to Harry Potter series, she read nearly 1/3 of the book at a bookshop while waiting for BS last night. Hehee… even faster than me. Anyway, KL told me that they already have the pdf version online, I told NL about it. Guess what. She’s reading on her computer at work now.

It’s pretty cool coz I’m eating lunch (scallop porridge) while reading my book and discussing with NL online. It’s kind of fun coz I’m pretty blur and can’t remember much details and I can always ask her. Hehee…I’m really having fun right now.

3. Dried Shellfish (Dried Abalone)
4. Dried Pork Floss
5. Dried Shrimps

On top of it, she gave me some very pretty wool embroidered shawls and a beautiful chino silk jacket. Also some netted laundry bags for my lingeries! Hahaa…

My family truly loves me!

Lame Honeymooner

Friday, July 15th, 2005

People have been asking me how does it feel to be married…finally married. To be very honest, no different. I asked KL the same question too, he said that other than saying I’m his girlfriend/fiancee, he refers to me as his wife. Other than that, no different.

Strangely heartwarming when I read about other couples’ saying that they are blessed that they are married to this wonderful person…and so on. How come I don’t feel like that? BS and GL says we too “married” before we are married and hence no difference other than that legal paper. That’s quite lame I think. I just wish it was just as special.

Although I have no regrets about our wedding, in fact, it was wonderful with no hiccups, I just wished that we would still be in our honeymoon stage, lovey dovey can’t get enough of each other and all.

Wish we can have the wedding all over again. It was such a pleasant and stressfree experience, I wanna feel special again!

1 Month of Bliss

Monday, July 11th, 2005

Today is our 1 month wedding anniversary but we celebrated last night with home cooked delights. Dad said that in Chinese tradition, brides are suppose to visit her parents today. I can’t because all flights to Singapore are all fully booked today.

Home Flu Sickness

Friday, July 8th, 2005

Been sick the last couple of days. The sickliness is still in my breath as we speak but I’m feeling better now. Been having Dried Scallops Porridge for meals and milo when I’m recovering. So glad that Aunty Lily got me those Scallops coz otherwise, I had nothing to put in my porridge except for leftover carrots and eggs. I wished I had minced pork or chicken to put in my porridge, but we are on a tight grocery budget.

I’ve heard about the London Blast and I don’t know what to say. It’s truly sad that terrorism has not mellowed even when we had tried so many ways (wars, awareness, etc) to prevent it. *sigh…

As I am slowly recovering from my flu, I realised that I truly miss a few people back in Singapore while I’m here:

1. Daddy (Can’t live with him/Can’t live without him)
2. GL (Her wisdom, shopping companionship and gossip exchange)
3. BS (His sense of humor, his wise advice and understanding and gossip exchange)

Although I have been told by DW that I’m very lucky and blessed to be in the Koala Land as well as married to my dream guy after nearly 10 years of togetherness?!?, I am trying to find courage in accepting my new life ahead. It’s strange how I hated back in SunnyLand and wished I was in KoalaLand and now I look forward to going back to SunnyLand in November to see my family and friends. I can only wish that I will get myself used to the new environment soon.

Fugly (Fuck Ugly)!!!

Monday, July 4th, 2005

Today is errands day. Woke up with KL and he drove me to VicRoad to convert my Singapore Driving Licence to an Victorian Licence. I took the pain to wake up earlier to make up and do my hair because I wanted my photo in my drivers licence to look good. Yes, I am guilty of taking at least 3 photos of ME-SELF before submitting my satisfactory photo to the Traffic police in Singapore for a new licence. I only stopped taking more because I ran out of coins and patience.

Anyway, ARGH!!! I hate the picture!!!! Stupid bitch asked me to look at the camera, so i smiled and look straight. Stupid bitch was chatting with her colleague and ignored me and then I dared not blink so my smile became crooked and my look became a blank stare, which lead my vision blurred. ARGH!!! Then, next came some light (as if it was just switched on). SHIT! You mean all these while it was not switch on and I was staring at the camera smiling like some idiot?!? Okay, so when the light was on, I knew I could break from staring as my vision was totally off, so I blinked like an idiot. It was then that the Stupid Bitch broke from gossiping with her colleague and asked me to look lower at some stupid red sticker…and then “Karr chak”!

My Photo on my driver’s Licence was like slanting (can see from my neckline), hair messy (yes, the wind was really strong this morning!). And worse of all, my eye level is so low. As if I was staring at someone’s open fly!

ARGH!!! Fugly Photo!!! So, I treated myself to Mekong Vietnamese Beef Noodle.
