Mother

Friday, September 30th, 2005

Mum just called. She told me about her plan to come visit (reads: bother) me at the end of October. Then she stopped herself and said that if she came, dad would be bored alone at home. HUH?? I just assumed dad was coming along. Then she said, “No more free tickets for him lah!”

Wah Lau! Then I came up with some bull-shit that she can’t come without dad coz I’ll probably be too busy to entertain her. *Yah right! Housefly have nothing to do, remember? Luckily, she was sensible to acknowledge that it was a stupid idea anyway. *Phew!

Honestly, I rather Dad came instead. Without her preferably!

Sofa So Good

Friday, September 30th, 2005

I’ve been feeling fat and unsexy for at least a whole month now and suddenly, I feel sexual again. But it’s menses time too, so I can’t get any action. KL finds it rather amusing when I asked him to go away all the time and refuse to let him hold my hand when we watch the television. Why? Coz I find him incredibly sexy! Hahaa…

Yesterday, I kept trying my hardest to turn him off by playing with my booger, scratching myself at weird and hard to reach places and many other disgusting and unladylike acts. All in the attempt to turn him off, because he was oozing so much sex appeal.

He thinks I’m mad to think he is sexy. He said, “I got as much sex appeal as a sofa.”

But here I am, trying hard not to hump that sofa! Hahaaa…..

Picnic Party

Friday, September 30th, 2005

Last Sat, we went for M’s 18th bday party. Yeah, 18th!! Party was at the Botanical Gardens, picnic style. The theme - Sorority Girls & Frat Boys. I went as a high class pearls & cardigan wearing stuckup bossy bitch. KL went as a nerd, that will never be invited to any parties. KL wore a shirt and buttoned up and really look like a nerd/geek.

Most people came dressed as a Loser with glasses. Some girls came with two pony tails, one of the girls drew ugly freckles on her cheeks and a couple of guys came with suspenders wearing golf caps too. It was really quite a riot!

Anyway, the weather was fantastic, the dogs came to steal food, we had lots of drink and I probably drank way too much. It was really a great party.

Driving Fifi home Part II

Tuesday, September 27th, 2005

Just survived a massive traffic jam home from picking Fifi up. Was stuck in the jam for more than 1hour because there was some oil spill and they had to close 2 out of 3 lanes.

Before I went, I studied and memorised the route home. Haven’t studied so hard before in a long long time. Heh!

I was unfamiliar with the road home, so I stuck on the same lane behind some “Aunty” with a mullet. Strangely, my lane was the only one I didn’t have to step on my brakes much. Thank goodness for automatic cars.

Being stuck in a jam for one hour was not funny, but luckily, I bought along a packet of Maltesers and a bottle of water. Clever right?? But, halfway home, I regretted drinking becoz it’s truly not funny when you have to pee while you are stuck in the jam.

Oh, I was also entertained by staring at myself with my new Movie-star sunnies. Fifi is truly a girl’s car because she has vanity mirror at the driver’s seat!! HAHAA… The drivers beside me must think I’m nuts coz I kept posing and pouting.

Nevertheless, I’m glad Fifi is home.

Royal Melbourne Show 2005

Tuesday, September 27th, 2005

I went to the Royal Melbourne Show with Noel & C last Tuesday. We had quite a blast, although we missed the Human Cannonball and the Rocketman, still I had fun checking in on the farm animals.

Noel and me couldn’t stop naming dishes. We’ll point at a fat plump chicken and shout “Chicken Rice!” or “Ribeye Steak” at a cow and even “Pipa Duck!” at a slender duck. I swear the farm animals hates us but everyone at the show had no idea what we were saying. Hehee…

Of course, we see the occasional weird but common animals. Like these, guess what they are.

They are chickens!!

Then these sheeps who are pregnant and due to lamb anytime. But these little ones were lamb the day we were there (the umbrical cord still intact). C said that the last time she went, she witness a sheep lambing. Pretty cool yah? Oh, Noel pointed and said, “Sup Kambing”

As usual, I love naming objects and animals. So I named this guy - “Feather Duster”.

Driving Fifi Home

Tuesday, September 27th, 2005

Fifi is ready for collection at the workshop and I have to go pick it up later coz KL is at work. I can’t say I have confidence in the trip because, it is quite an ulu unfamiliar place I have never been before. I’m not sure if I know how to come home from there.

I studied and memorised the Melway but I still lack confidence. Just saw GL online and told her about it hoping she would make me feel better. Instead, she said, “May the force be with you. Just close your eyes and let your hands guide you.”

Wah Lau! Close eyes how to drive??

The sun was out today…

Monday, September 26th, 2005

So, I hopped, skipped and ran to our nearby (about a street away) gourmet bread shop at High Street. The reason why I ran was because, I got distracted in cyberspace and suddenly remembered I had to get bread for tonight’s beef stew dinner.

By the time, I reached Phillippa’s I was breathless and sweating at the 13 degrees temperture. After purchasing my choice bread which was ‘Champagnard Baguette’, I popped my bread into my bag and walked back home slowly.

Walking home, I felt eyes on me (or my baguette which was popping out of my bag). I felt rather like a movie star. You see, I managed to grab my movie-star sunnies, my Ipod Nano (affectionately called Pod-piah) and my huge-ass diamond ring too. Even in a panic scramble out to get bread, I still managed to try to look good.

Did I mention that I love walking along my neighbourhood when it’s nice and sunny? The 3 main things I love about my weekly (almost) walks are:

1. The colourful pretty flowers on the streets or in the neighbour’s home.

2. Peeping into neighbours’ houses and envy their gorgeous home.

3. Watching the doggies running wild in the park nearby.

Okay, got to heat up the stew now.

Shopping Non-stop

Sunday, September 25th, 2005

Went Bridge Road shopping with CT on friday to look for a friend’s birthday present. Wah Lau!! Her 18th Birthday!! That’s like err…about a decade ago for me.

Anyway, I had no clue what to get for a girl’s 18th special day, I nearly bought her a chocolate fondue set (Clear signs of becoming an Auntie!!). Well, lucky for the birthday girl, we got for her a pink girly jewellry box with a pearl bracelet inside. Totally gorgerous!

Oh, I suppose the purpose of this entry was to talk about my shopping spree within half hour at Bridge Road. I bought 3 Mimco Clutches and 4 Bonds panties! Hahaa…

In my defence, it was hell of a good deal. Imagine 1 Mimco bag costing about AUD149 and I paid about AUD19 for each! And 2 for AUD15 Bonds panties.

The Mimco clutches are really detailed and worth every discounted penny. It comes with exquisite brooch-like add ons. Check out the details on these babies.

What should one say? WELL DONE!! GOOD JOB!!! GL would have been so proud of me!

By the way, I named it “Podpiah”. Witty right?

Dinner

Wednesday, September 21st, 2005

We just had a AUD200 dinner this evening (only a mere 5 dishes). Guess what? I’m eating Cup Noodles right now while KL is grilling a cheese sausage for supper.

Hail to Storm

Wednesday, September 21st, 2005

Almost every winter, Melbourne will have some short sprint of a hail storm. I love it, because you can’t get that back in SunnyLand. It’s like rain drops that solidified into balls of snow. Big ones actually. It’s different from snow, coz snow falls are like flakes and it looks like you have dandruff on your head. Whereas hails are bloody painful (when it hits your head) and can get rather destructive - damaging personal properties like homes and cars.

Okay, this is not exactly the best picture to show you what is a hail storm. But please do a search and see what you can come up with. This picture shows that I don’t have the “balls” to go out and venture. Although you might see the white specks on the road and a couple of huge balls of hail too.

Strong Fifi

Tuesday, September 20th, 2005

Fifi was slightly damaged when KL got into a car accident on last thursday. Luckily, KL was unharmed and Fifi was just slightly scratched. But the Volkswagon he crashed into was in a bad shape.

Conclusion, Fifi is a mean Biatch!

The Moon represents my Heart

Monday, September 19th, 2005

Yesterday was Mooncake Festival. But, I didn’t eat any mooncake or brunt any lantens. Instead, we went for Briyani Rice at Sydney Road - Nila’s. Noel introduced us the place. On our way to Nila, we got kind of lost and I was looking high and low for the full moon. But found this instead. What an eerie sight of the moon near a deserted church.

As usual, always forget to take picture of our food so I took pic of the briyani rice. Yummy and spicy, unfortuately, I had no space for prata. Next time.

Pork Stomach Soup

Monday, September 19th, 2005

This is a story about my attempt to make Pork Stomach Soup.

First, boil some pork ribs with some white peppercorn.

Next turn the pork stomach inside out. First picture shows the stomach when you first buy it. Second one shows how it would look like when you turn it inside out. Then soak the inverted stomach with some salted water. Wash and Rinse (with salt), wash and rinse, kept repeating until your fingers become numb.

While you are washing, soaking and rinsing, take a small knife and scrape the stomach (the inverted part). You know you are doing it right when you see this (see picture) gooey, slimey thing on the knife. All housewives who have done this dish before will tell you that this is the nasty part. Do it well and your stomach and soup won’t stink!

After you are contented with how much time you have wasted and how pruney your hands have become (it took me about 2 hours), throw the whole damn pork stomach into your pork ribs soup and boil in low heat forever! Okay, for a long long time until the stomach is nice and tender.

Finally, take out the stomach and slice it to a desirable length and throw the stomach back into the soup.

Dish out and serve. Let your husband try and if he critises it, empty the soup over his
head.

Carbo Overload

Saturday, September 17th, 2005

KL usually cooks in the weekends, fair because I cook in the weekdays. Today he made my favourite - Mushroom Risotto with Grilled Chicken. *Yums!

At the moment, my tummy is happy. I’m feeling fat but contented, so going to lie down for a while. *Zzzz….

Wedding Present Receipt

Friday, September 16th, 2005

BS sent me a copy of the receipt of the wedding presentS (as above) he bought for me in June. Please note that I did not recieve the last two items on the receipt.

Bloody Idiot bought it in a sale!!!! Cheapskate!

MIA

Friday, September 16th, 2005

Been MIA (Missing in Action) for a while, coz KL bought home virus from work (sick office syndrome). He was sick last Friday but recovered over the weekend. But by that time, he already passed his germs to me. *sigh…

Even when I was sick, I still managed to attempt some culinary experiment. I made some Tomato Garlic Prawns and it tasted way better than porridge which I had been eating for 3 days.

Obiang Delivery

Tuesday, September 13th, 2005

Received parcel from dad yesterday. I greeted the postman with my PJs - so malu! I got dad to get me some skin care from SaSa coz it’s cheaper than here. In addition, he included some of my stuff which I forgotten to bring here - including my favourite hairbands.

He bought me this sticker for me to paste on my rice bucket - so “orbit”!! And very “Obiang” Lantens!! Wah lau! Why he never send me some mooncakes?

Head-ache

Monday, September 12th, 2005

Why is it that just after 3 months of marriage you discover that your partner might be balding? Coincidence?

Damn it! Goods Sold cannot be refunded!

Happy 3 months Anniversary!!

Ipod Nano

Saturday, September 10th, 2005

I know I’m late with this post, but for your information, I was one of the first to know about this new launch (having a husband that is techie/geek/nerd). In addition to his occupation, he probably knows it even earlier than most people. Aiyah, whatever… I want one of this in white please! Thank you!

Many moons ago, wanted to get myself a Ipod mini but bought KL an Ipod instead. Then it never happen. *sigh…

*Husband if you reading this, christmas is coming soon.
