Oh, Dad brought with him, our Angbao from SunnyLand. Thank goodness there are still a few people who are not cheapskate to use the excuse that we are not there to give us. They passed it to my parents.

It quite sad that we only managed about 10 AngBaos, we still got quite a lot of money because the people who were not cheapskate, are the people who are generous. Aunty Lily gave us some lottery tickets too, in addition to her normal red packets.

I figured if we went home, will probably not recover any losses.

Parents are here for a week.

They are already driving me insane.

I don’t understand whats wrong with people. Suddenly when they are married, they refer to their other halves as, “Hubby” or “Wifey”. Seriously people, we know who you are referring to.

All the years of the person’s name, suddenly with a signing of some official papers - they changed their names. And I’m not even talking about changing surname or anything.

Remind me of those olden times, where once the woman is married, first thing she do is cut and perm her hair to trying to look older.

What the hell.

A Vietnamese girl from work gave me a little present for CNY today. When I say little, its really tiny. The very most, 2cm in length.

Its a beautifully wrapped green bean sweet from vietnam.

One step towards becoming a domestic goddess was to test my flower arrangement skills.

Although it is not totally arranged by me, I still had to throw out the roses and replace it with the right flowers and colours. In addition, I had to “arrange” it nicely so that the flowers would be showing.

Nice? Thought it was great work. Perfect for decorating the house in preparation of guests coming to the dinner.

I notice that my butt is bigger.

KL says that in Summer since our feet, finger swells too big for our wedding band. So, butts swells too.

Most people will say, “What a sweet husband.”

I say, “What a load of crap!”

I went church alone today after work. It’s funny how I remembered that it was Ash Wednesday all on my own.

A little sian because if I intend to go meatless again for Lent, I will have to postpone it till my parents leaves. But, I’m sure I can think of another abstinence.

Today is my 1st anniversary at work.

I can’t believe I survived 1 year.

Oh, and I’ve been employed for 1 whole year - how come I still feel poor?

We hosted a steamboat party on CNY reunion dinner at our place. First we had only invited 8 people because we had a total of 8 chairs in our place. The guest list got as high as 12 when people called to ask if they can bring either a lonely friend or a date. Well, I guess the reason for the CNY dinner was mainly to home lonely friends who are not back in SunnyLand for some reason or another. Besides, the party last year was close to 20 people and we were invited.

The prep work for the big night started 2 weekends ago, stocking up on steamboat supplies because we are kiasu. The night before, we extended our amazing table to a 6 to a comfortable 10 sitter.

The above picture shows half the table filled with food. We had doubles of everything including an extra steamboat.

One of our friend’s boyfriend doesn’t take red meat and a couple others have some sort of weird eating habits. I had to resort to labelling our food. Okay, I’m just anal. It was fun anyway.

You know how Dads always somehow manage to embarrass their kids? Well, I think my dad just made me the most dorkiest cheena-piang person in this world when he sent me this, to my office somemore!!! The box says, “Golden Pig for the New Year”

Since half of my office saw it because they get excited when I get parcel from home (usually means got food), they wanted to plant it. They are side betting that it is weed/pot/marijuna. Yeah right!

So after putting the seed in the “nutrious soil” and watering it on Friday, I came back to work on Monday to this.

The most obiang part of it? The typical 4 numbers on the bean. It is “1628″ and on the other side, it says, “I’ve Won!”

Dad probably think its damn funny! I am surely not amused.

Just finished clearing the house and extended our table from the usual 6 sitter to a 8. Somehow a total 12 people will be coming for dinner.

Everyone on the streets yesterday was carrying roses - man, woman, girl, boy, grandma even.

Co bought herself a brocolli and walked around the city to proof that Vday is too commercialised.

Yes, KL bought me a bouquet of roses. I have never in my life (so far) received such huge bouquet. Very happy, although I had to walk to the reception desk to get it myself.

Wonder if its because of the bad blood lately or because he knew I was having valentine’s lunch with a 19 year old boy who adores me. Whatever the reason is, I’m truly happy and for once, we sort of celebrated Vday.

By the way, this is the first time we are celebrating Valentine’s day as a married couple in Melly. And in the last 5 years, we have been apart on Valentine’s day.

KL says I’m too immature to have babies.

I think, his fucking ass parents are immature. THAT would be a good gauge!

I’m quite upset that its the end of season for Cherries.

We went Ikea to get some stools for Sat’s CNY eve dinner and I fell in love with this. I stood there staring at it for a long time and then told KL that I wanted that for Valentine’s day.

I’m never much of a picture/painting kind of person, but I was truly mesmerized by it. I didn’t care if its from Ikea (and not some fancy gallery) or if its cheesy and pretencious. I just wanted it.

I can just stare at it forever.

Craps, they don’t delivery to Melly. Besides, shoes are hard unless I try it.
