Am fucking pissed because I already wrote this entry and it wasn’t save when my kaypoh-ish to see some video (having to dl flash). Had to listen to KL to close my computer when I knew I should have checked before I do so. So now, I am typing this entry all over again. It will never be as perfect as what I wrote last night. ARGH!
Woke up this morning without GL again. Guess she is probably in some Gem shop. Went breakfast without her again. Pissed off in the morning because firstly, I am not a morning person. Secondly, I am tired and need more sleep. Lastly, they again gave us a crappy table at the buffet. I demanded a better table, and finally, they gave us one closer to the Buffet table. As usual, we headed back to the room to poop and GL was already there.
We left the hotel in 2 cabs to go to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Bloody sly conman who calls himself a cab driver, brought us to some dodgy pier and asked us to take the boat there because it was the fastest way there. Yeah Right. It was way to expensive. At this point, I sense BS’s forcefield. He is pissed. We all were pissed about being conned. But we continued and decided to cut our loses and take another “decent” cab to where we want to go.The same bastard conman wanted to take us but we tried hailing for the Bandung cab nearby, only to be yelled at by the bastard. Apparently, this is his territory. Anyway, at the end, we all sat in one cab to the temple. The driver was nice and even told us how to get to another temple after this.
When we arrived at the temple, there was so many tourist. KL, NL and BS had to rent clothes because they were not dressed for the temple. *tsk tsk… wear so skimpy, some people have no decency. Unlike GL and me.
Picture of them:

When we entered, I was nearly blinded by the Gold. I have never seen so much Gold before. We took lots of touristy pictures. I even taught GL how to take photos with her own camera pointing at herself. After many attempts, she finally managed to avoid cutting my head off the shot. Hope she continues having fun with her camera.
I think I take quite good pictures. So here are some.
Huge Statue when we walked in:

Little shrine within the temple grounds:

Check out the Gold in the place:

My artistic shot (nice right?):

More blings and gold:

A lot of tourists posed like the statues when they took this picture:

After we are done and seen the Emerald Buddha, we walked to the Palace grounds. Although we didn’t see any handsome prince roaming about, we took a picture with a rather cute guard.

Then we started our journey to the Temple of Dawn. We followed the cab driver’s instructions but it was quite a long walk. That’s where we all begin to ask, “Are we there yet?”. In doubt, we stopped and asked a guide and guess what. He told us that the temple is closed until later so he suggested that we visit a factory outlet and even drew on our map. We took the risk and soldier on. We could smell the salted fish smell and thought we might be near the river. Thinking we are near, we crossed the road and found ourselves at ‘ju hier’ heaven. Boy, all of us love our smelly cuttlefish. The shop sells all sort of dried food.
While waiting for BS to buy 1kg of cuttlefish amongst other things, I took this picture:

We bought tangerine juice before we when on board the boat. At the stand, the drink stall seller was speaking to us in English and his toddler daughter was staring at GL. He joking tell GL to take her. GL said, “Come, let’s go home.” Obviously the kid didn’t understand until her father told her what he said because he kept asking her what did GL say to her. She immediately cried and didn’t want to let her dad go. Haha… GL, wants to be another Angelina Jolie.
So, we sat on the dingy boat waiting for the driver to come. We can see the Temple of Dawn at the other side. Makes me feel like we are going Kusu island. Hmm… when the boat started, we soon realised how filthy the river was. We were hoping no water would splash at us. Strangely, the boat ride was very short. Feels like it just did a U-turn and we were on the other side.
The temple wasn’t closed. The bloody locals are lying so that we can go to their factory outlet. Makes me wonder if at the “factory outlet” there would be people waiting for us with their cleavers - making us into human pau. Too many B-grade movies!
There is nothing to do at the temple except to climb it. Mind you, it’s bloody steep.

GL and BS had a go at it first and apparently, GL went all jelly feet at the top. Haha… I feel the earth move, under my feet… Some angmo lady wore a dress and climbed up. Everyone had a free show. Didn’t have to go Patpong. Then I went up. I guess I wasn’t that scared. The view at the top was magnificent.
We explored a little and then it was time to get down. Shit! Coming down was not a funny matter. I found it easier to come down with both hands on the handle. Of coz, KL had to take a picture of me looking at my worse. ARGH! So tak glam!
Back on the boat to the main island again.

Since we did all those touristy stuff, its into a cab and off to MBK for some shopping. Our cab got there first so we waited for BS and NL outside Mister Donut. KL swear that he had one of that 10 years ago at the exact same location in MBK.

When they arrived, we were starving by then so we went to SushiTei for lunch. I know, sushi in thailand? But it was good and cheap.
We ordered this sushi and it was good:

We split up after lunch to go about shopping. Apparently BS had an agenda where to go. GL wandered off to Tokyu. KL and I wandered around like a lost puppy. I have to say that I love MBK. It’s different from 10 years ago but I love it.
There are so many shops and so many floors. I spotted this pair of shorts that I like and asked for my size. Girl said, “XL”. I thought, “FUCK!”. KL sniggered and the girl immediately said, “Thai size. Cutting small.” It was cheap so I bought 2. The bloody tag is going to be inside anyway. Hahaa..
I love MBK. Just wished that BS had bought us there earlier. If I knew, I wouldn’t have wasted my time at Siam Paragon. And, to only discover MBK at 3pm was not cool. Plus we were heading back tomorrow. DAMN. KL and me wandered off and bought a few things. I only wish we had more time.
We met up again with the gang and GL wanted to get a new luggage for her coming Korea trip with her mum. We checked it out but I wasn’t good at such thing. I seized the opportunity and did more shopping. We met up BS again and he told me that there are so many stuff I like upstairs which I haven’t explore. Boy, I wish he had told us earlier when we first came to MBK. In fact, we have been friends for so long, he should know what I like and posh paragon is not me. I like cheap stuff that I can haggle.
It was an exhausting day. If not for dinner, I would have shopped till the shops closed. I think I did. I remember shutters coming down and sheets of cloths covering their goods. We wandered out of MBK and BS brought us to this chinese restaurant. We were really exhausted at this point. Our feet was aching and my knees were refusing to bend going up and down the stairs.
The food was alright. The fried rice was great. The Thai restaurant we went on the first day was the best.
Since I was too busy shopping at MBK, I had forgotten to take picture. So, I whipped out my camera while we wait for our food and took this:

And this:

The sharkfin was starchy and not that fantastic but hey, we were tired and we just wanted to fill our stomach and go back hotel to sleep.
Imagine walking all the way back to the hotel again. We walked by the Thai restaurant we went to on the first night and I took a picture of it so I can remember the name:

BS and NL didn’t want to follow us to the thai massage place downstairs so we went on our own. We went to Lek Massage. GL had the Thai body massage while KL and me opt for the foot and shoulder/head massage. After a tiring day that involved lots of walking and carrying of shopping bags, the foot message was sensational. Cheap too. $400BHT. I just felt sorry for the masseuse coz I haven’t showered yet. Opps!
GL finished early so we went back to the room to sleep. We enjoyed our massage so much I fell asleep. My masseuse was so attentive. She knew what was too much and what tickled me. KL’s masseuse was a very strong older woman. She kept staring at him to see his reaction - to see if it hurts or wasn’t enough. At the end, we were very happy with our masseuse that we heavily tipped them.
All I remember was that I fell asleep very quickly that night.
