17 Oct 2007 - Far East and Anna
Cousin canceled on me yet again. Why am I not surprised? KL already said that there are people who feel that they NEED to meet you and there are others who WANT to meet you. In this case, WANT is more important. Bored, I saw DW online and begged him to have lunch with me. He did. I changed and dashed out of the house and met him at Far East for lunch. KL was out with his parents getting a laptop. I didn’t want anything to do with it.
DW brought me to this ‘no-fuss’ chicken rice place. I have to say, the portion is so small! How Sunnylander eat so little? I tell myself, “Not to worry. You can eat kaya roti later.” And we progressed to YaKun right after. I didn’t want to scare DW with my appetite so I only ordered a drink. *blush* We chatted a bit and even did a little show and tell. Haha.. Everytime we meet, we will show each other some skin. Nearly forgot to mention that part of my 16Kg parcel I brought back to Sunnyland includes, 5 shampoos for DW.
DW had to rush back to work so I started my shopping in Far East. Not long after saying goodbye to DW, I bought 2 pairs of shoes from Mondo and 2 bags (same design but in 2 colours). Nothing would fit me in Bangkok, nothing will fit me in Far East. Disappointed, I started wandering upstairs. Feeling very filthy from Bangkok, I found a nice nail place and asked for a pedicure. There are so many shops offering the same service there with prices pretty competitive. So I chose one that looked clean, bright and decent.

By the way, thats my fat toes. Check out the little basket of OPI colours.
The ladies there were very nice and damn sweet. No, they are not PRC, but I reckon from across the bridge. I chatted with them before I entered to make sure they are not PRC. Yes, biased. I know.
Anyway, I kept apologising to the girls because my feet was really dirty. Explained that I just came back from Bangkok and she was so great. She scrubbed and used some special solution to remove the dirt. I feel, oh so pampered.

And they had a nice flat screen tv showing some HK drama featuring Aaron Kwok. *drool*
After my nails are done, I called Aunty Anna to meet her at CK Tang. I even managed to get my “damn-hard-to-find” concealer and went to Island Shop. Aunty Anna was talking all the while and I wasn’t very good at playing attention. There was so many things to see, try and buy. At Island Shop, I tried on at least 5 summery tops and decided to buy 2. Aunty Anna offered to get them for me for Xmas. SCORE!
Around this time, KL came to join us. We adjourned to Paragon. Darm! I’m not finished with CK Tang. She suggested Bakerzin. I had my favourite ‘warm chocolate cake’ and KL shared something with Aunty Anna. KL still have his nasty cough and asked for water. The waiter said, they “Don’t serve water.” HUH? KL said, “Still? Tap?” The waiter proceed in explaining that they have evian. KL was so mad he took his empty mineral waterbottle and walked to the toilet to fill it up. WTF. Not like we didn’t order drinks. We ordered drinks and dessert. Everything so sweet, we had to wash it down with water? And, not like they are selling water cheap anyway. ARGH! Okay, we will not go there ever again… or till next year. =P
We got up and rushed to Paragon to wait for Uncle Kenny to pick us up. Thats the beauty of Sunnyland - although super hot, we are always in the comfort of air-conditioning. We arrived at East Coast Lagoon before 7 in the middle of the week. There was so many vacant tables. Spoilt for choice.
There are the dishes we ordered:

KL ordered this while waiting for the food to arrive. Honestly, its really a small bowl. I ‘helped’ him with his hum.

Kailan. Aunty Anna needed this to help her with her….err.. short intestines.

Stingray. Steve, bless your soul.

BARBAK!!! I HEART Barbak. oh, how I miss barbak! That’s beef tripe for those of you that don’t already know.

Oyster Omelette! Although I love eggs, I was eating the oyster mostly. And, the soury spicy chilli sauce that goes so well with it… *drool.

Mussels and Sotong! I need my shell-fish.
Obviously, we washed it down with Sugar Cane drink. Never take picture coz too busy stuffing face. We left that East Coast Lagoon as quickly as we came. It was too hot and humid to stay there a minute later. In the car, Uncle Kenny wanted to bring us to Cozy bay but I wanted a place with air conditioning. He then brought us to this new joint he discovered at Telok Kurau.
It quite a nice and quiet neighbourhood pub. I ordered this fruity sweet drink and it doesn’t taste bad. We chatted (Aunty Anna spoke more), ate peanuts and chilled. We even played cards and loser had to put peanut on any part of their face (mainly ear).
The boys played snooker or billiard. I can’t tell. Aunty Anna talked more. I was basically stoned out by then and it was raining outside and I was really sleepy. They drove us back and I can’t remember what I did after we got home. I think I might have been busy packing or something. Either that, or I fell asleep.
