KL bought converse shoes for the baby. So cute!

He not only bought one, he bought a bigger size in high cut. Still damn cute!

He also has one. Eww… Father and Son matching shoes.

I just had my ultra sound scan. These are the words the sonographer said:
“Good news - One live baby.”
“Bad news - He is standing on his head. Makes my job harder.”
First look at the screen - I didn’t know which was up or down. Then I realised where the head was, and it came a complete shock to me. I have only seen ultra sound scan pictures of babies lying horizontally, but never upside down vertically. Hahaa…
We heard the heart beat next. Really loud and fast.
Then, his hand was waving and moving so much. His legs stretched and back to normal. So much movement, I only wish I could feel it. We also saw the spine and the heart beating on his chest.
The next thing that happened came a complete shock. I was asked to change into a gown with underwear off and instinctively, I knew I am going to get one of those dildo scan that was mentioned in the pregnancy forum I have been reading. I wasn’t exactly expecting that. But luckily, I have been reading those forum site so often to know whats happening. I think KL must be a bit confused for a while.
Sonographer did his checks for the fluid thingy and then we had a good view of his little foot. Next thing we knew, the baby moved and we saw his face. Okay, not a clear one but it was still a full view of his face. How surreal!
KL and I wasn’t emotional or anything. Not like those in the movies. I guess, I just felt weird and still in shock. Looking at the screen felt very surreal. As if I was watching some documentary on TV.
The due date is around the calculated one so we didn’t have to change anything.
We were given a picture and a DVD of the scan. I am quite embarrassed about the stupid things I asked and said during the scan. I was nervous and basically ignorant being my first time.
Before posting this, I had watched the DVD at least 5 times!
Anyway, good news for KL. He once mentioned that if I had twins, he would cut. Well, I guess he don’t have to cut whatever he was thinking of.
Okay, I seriously can’t remember what I had for breakfast today. But we took a cab to Chinatown to have our eyes tested to make some glasses. BS introduced us the place and it was pretty cheap too.
BS introduced us the place and it was pretty cheap too. So we in total we made 4 pairs of glasses (2 each). I am so sad that my degree increased and will be soon certified legally blind. *sigh. Still no guts to do lasik.
Anyway, we were in a dodgy shopping centre and I can’t believe that they have there.
They were tattoo-ing eyebrows at the side of the escalator. How dodgy is that? And you won’t believe that a lot of “aunties” are doing it. My God. I wonder if it’s safe to do so, not to mention sanitized. And the customer lie on beach decks and the tattoo “artist” is practically squatting on stools. GOODNESS!
After the optical, we had lunch downstairs and I had help a nice Indonesian man translate his orders to a PRC hawker. Although there are numbers on the pictures, the stupid PRC hawker can’t even understand the numerics. ARGH! I’m most frustrated during this trip back to Sunnyland seeing so many PRCs everywhere. I hate it most when I see a PRC cooking my Char Kway Tiao in the food court. Yes, I is a racialist. But, how is it possible when I is Yellow?
Anyway, KL had Yong Tau Hu, but since his wife is a slow eater, he got hungry again.
So he ordered chicken rice. Isn’t he adorable with his shirt? *puke*
After lunch, we got bored and sweaty and decided to go Suntec. It is closer to his office and he is meeting his colleagues for dinner later. We took the confusing Northeast line and managed our way to Cityhall. By the time we reached Suntec, it was time for him to go off and abandon me. Since I had time to kill till I meet BS and NL for dinner. I went everywhere and took photos like a tourist.
This is the Fountain of Wealth. I think.
And I saw Muthu’s Curry going all clean and upmarket:
I got bored after a while and I sat down at NYDC for a drink.
The cakes were tempting.
And it’s some time till dinner so I had to order.
The Boney Cake is my favourite.
YUP! I am P-I-G!
I sat there and played my DS and waited for BS and NL to come meet me. I get bored so easily.
When they arrived, we went Sakae Sushi for dinner. OINK!!
As you can tell, I only took picture of my Chuwanmushi because I was too busy eating.
After dinner, I had to show NL my new toy - Pinky, my Nintendo DS lite.
Apparently, after that night, NL die die had to get one too. Hehee.
The donut craze. Such long queue too.
We have Krispy Kreme in Melly and I don’t even bother much.
About the same price too.
We went to Giant because they needed to get something. So, I wiped out my camera coz I got bored.
Apple Cheese Sausage? Sausage in Chicken Meat? Weird!
Muscle Ham?
Lion Dance Pork Ball. MY FAVOURITE! Oh, how I miss you…
And before we left, I saw Ben & Jerry’s.
Melly don’t have. But I was too full to put anything in my mouth.
I went back to their place but not before bringing sweet young innocent me to see hookers near our neighbourhood. BS even pointed one $20 hooker. These PRC are getting more and more daring.
At their place, BS’s mum was so nice and wanted to make me Luncheon Meat Bun, fondly known as “Lan Chiao Bun”. So sweet. But I already overate and want to puke already. Bailey made me sneeze so much, I had to leave their place early to nurse my hayfever.
I showered, took medication and concussed in bed. I woke up at 3am to let KL in. I heard that he went to Vivo, Zouk and even MOS that night. Blardy Hell.
We started the morning with my favourite Lor mee. Then we went to meet KL’s parents and grandma for lunch at the club. We are such pigs!
Guess where we went next. Toa Payoh interchange. KL needed to spend some time with his parents to understand their new business venture and I didn’t want to be involved fearing boredom. So, I wondered around the whole interchange for nearly over 4hrs.
There is really nothing much to buy or see coz I practically walked the whole damn over and over again.
Still, I managed to score a couple of work blouses and giordano tees (sales). That was about it. I think I did pretty badly for that 4 hours but again, it was quite boring.
Since I probably walked around the entire interchange more than 3 times, I saw the progress of these durains unloading.
The highlight of the day was probably dinner with the extended family at Ah Tat’s.
Apparently Uncle Ah Tat divorced his wife and married a Viet girl half his age. Now, he does, Chinese/Thai/Viet cuisine. Still, it was delicious. He even remember that I love his sharksfin and that KL love his butter spareribs.
I had a couple of bowls that night.
We went home with a really full stomach and feeling restless, we took a cab to the 24hrs Mustafa. Woohoo!
Didn’t take much pictures because I was too busy shopping. But took this picture because stupid tiger nearly got me in trouble with the custom last year.
Then I saw this weird dry water massage machine. How weird is it. Looks like Michael Jackson’s oxygen capsule.
Shortly after this picture was taken, Alan came to meet us. We didn’t explore much of Mustafa after that. However, I still managed to buy up to $250 worth of stuff. I don’t know how I managed to do it in such a short span of time.
We wanted to bring Alan to see some interesting characters at Desker Road but they were not there so we decided to go off somewhere else for drinks.
Saw this Letter Box at Little India. Apparently they commissioned students to decorate them thru-out Sunnyland. In my opinion, some look really stupid and amature.
As we haven’t climatise to the weather yet, KL requested for an Air-conditioned place to go. Since we haven’t been back for a long time, we had difficulty describing and giving Alan direction. But it didn’t take KL too long to find it. Seriously, every year we come back, we’ll have to bring Alan to a new place because that fella just don’t go out much.
Again, I don’t know how we do it but even after a heavy dinner, we still managed to gobble down a bowl of Bak Chor mee.
My boss is a crazy fan of Harry Potter and finished the book in a day. Due to the harry potter maddness in the office and his way of encouraging me to finish it, he wore his potter glasses today.
He told me that he won’t be in the office tomorrow and I will have time to read my book (in the office). He doesn’t realise that I’m busier without him in the office.
The kids in my office have been coming to my desk and chatting with me. They call me “Big Sister” - but not in a gangster manner.
Kenny, one of the boys, have been coming to my desk and “stealing” my fruits. On Friday, before I left for home, I left my mandarin at his desk because I didn’t have a chance to eat it and didn’t want it to go to waste.
Monday morning, I came to work and saw this. It says, “Hi Hazy, Do you speak Mandarin?” Hahaa… it cured my Monday blues straight away.
Everyone who walked by my desk thinks its hilarious. I took MC for a couple of days and discovered this on my shelves when I returned.
The girl mandarin says, “Hi, I’m your new friend.”
The other bigger mandarin says, “Hi, I’m your future you. Get well soon.”
I have since left the following in Kenny’s drawer:
- a banana with a note saying, “Hi, I’m straight!”
- a Kiwi Fruit saying, “Hi, I’m Hairy Potter!”
